The Dalmare S.p.A. has obtained in December 2008 the certification of the environmental management system according to the ISO 14001:2004 regulation.

Yet another acknowledgement of the Company’s efforts that has always dedicated a consistent attention to the issues regarding the safety of navigation and respect for the environment, which are considered by the D’Alesio ship owners and by all the employees of the group, a mission to pursue as well as a social commitment.

The certification, issued by the DNV authority and that integrates the Quality System already certified in 2006 according to the ISO 9001:2000 regulation, has required the analysis of the company’s environmental impacts and especially the impact of the ships, the identification of the critical impacts that require an intervention in order to contain them, and therefore the development of procedures to manage them, and establishing improvement objectives to be verified at the end of each year.

The main improvement goals are represented by the fleet’s renewal through the implementation of technical solutions on all the new vessels that will make them more eco-compatible, also adding additional equipment that allows them to be certified as Rina Green Star; by establishing best environmental practices to which the fleet must adhere to in order to avoid wasting fuel and to promote garbage recycling on board by an intense training activity of the ship’s personnel in order to underline and to make each person more aware of the importance that his proper behaviour can have on the environment.
