D'Alesio Group

With a displacement of 52.000 dwt and certified for the shipping of oil and chemical products, the vessel Calafuria has been built in compliance with the standards of the international industry, in conformity with both IMO, the UN of the sea, regulations such as the MARPOL and SOLAS Conventions, and the extremely high standards of the Majors so that it was also able to achieve the RINA Green Star (the certification that indicates the vessel was designed, constructed and managed according to standards that ensure the highest level of respect for the environment). 

The delivery, that took place today in the Hyundai Mipo shipyard,  was presided by the D’Alesio family represented by Nello D’Alesio, who -along with his brother Antonio – has been  at the helm of the Company  for over forty years, by his son Antonio Jr  and his wife Stefania, who was chosen as the sponsor for the launch, and by Mauro one of his grandchildren. 

 “With the Calafuria we are heading towards the complete renewal of our fleet that will end with the delivery of the sister ship, also being built in the Hyundai Mipo shipyard and whose delivery is expected for the end of the year”. – states Nello D’Alesio, Executive Vice President of the D’Alesio Group -  “The building of these last two vessels is part of our ship owner market consolidation strategy that is based on the acquisition of a fleet, entirely made of vessels with a double hull, capable to meet all the standards required both by international regulations and by our clients. After all, we have been the first in Italy to go in this direction.”
